Media speculation about Vail Resorts purchasing Merlin ski resorts

In response to the Australian Financial Review's article today, asserting a plan to purchase the Falls Creek and Hotham Skiing Companies from Merlin Entertainment by Vail Resorts, the Mt Hotham and Falls Creek Alpine Resort Management Boards are unable at this point to confirm whether this has happened.

However, we welcome interest in our resorts, and believe the fantastic 2017 and 2018 seasons demonstrate the continued strength of our industry, which contributed an estimated $1 billion to gross state product in 2018.

New and planned investment at all the resorts is a vote of confidence in our industry by the private sector and will help to ensure we have a thriving, sustainable industry, year-round, which benefits our regional areas and Victoria as a whole.
