23 March 2023
We're thrilled to be welcoming the Targa Classica event to Mt Hotham in the afternoon of Tuesday 28 March, which will see around 240 classic vehicles and modern super cars heading up from Harrietville to Hotham Heights. Visitors to the resort will have the opportunity to check out the cars and chat to the driving teams in the Corral car park between 3pm and 7:30pm, while enjoying hospitality provided by the Snowbird's outdoor bar.
This will require some changes to resort operations on Tuesday and Wednesday, so please be aware of the following details if you are planning to travel to Mt Hotham.
If you have staff or tradespeople on the mountain that may be impacted, please ensure they are aware of the following.
Friday 24 March - Wednesday 29 March - 12 noon
Parking restrictions will be in place around Corral car park and Whitey’s car park for event set-up, event operation and then pack-down.
From Monday 5pm Corral and Whitey's car parks will closed to all vehicles. Alternative parking will be available in the vicinity around the Corral car park - in front of the Snowbird, Resort Management offices, the Medical Centre and Zirky's.
Tuesday 28 March
- 2pm – 8pm: Around 240 Targa Classica vehicles plus support vehicles will be travelling on the Great Alpine Road between Harrietville and Hotham Heights so please expect delays and factor extra time into your travel plans. We ask that you limit your speed within the Hotham Village area to 40km/hr to cater for the Targa Classica vehicles and increased pedestrian traffic. Please drive with caution.
- 3pm – 7.30pm: The Snowbird's outdoor bar will be operating in Corral car park and the Snowbird will be open for drinks and snacks.
Wednesday 29 March
- 6.30am – 9.30am: The Snowbird will be open for breakfast and coffee.
- 8:30am – 9:30am: Targa Classica time trial in the Corral car park. Spectators welcome.
We look forward to seeing you there!
